Liquid staking lets a holder stake and still hold a transferable receipt token. The size of those pools shows how much of the network's stake is intermediated rather than run directly by the holder.

It counts only the pools our source tracks, so it understates staking on networks where most stake is delegated directly.

A large figure relative to total stake means a few pool operators control a large share of validation.
