Nakamoto coefficient
The smallest number of validators that together could halt the network.
Counted as the number of the largest stake holders whose combined share passes one third of active stake — the threshold at which a coordinated group can stop a proof-of-stake chain from finalising blocks.
Waar het misleidt
It counts validator identities, not the people behind them. Several validators can share one operator, one hosting provider or one country, in which case the real figure is lower than the measured one.
Een hoge of lage waarde lezen
A lower number means fewer parties would have to coordinate.
