Stablecoin Supply Hosted on Chain
The value of stablecoins issued on, or bridged to, a particular blockchain.
Stablecoins are tokens designed to track a reference currency, usually the US dollar, backed either by off-chain reserves held with a custodian or by on-chain collateral managed by a protocol. The supply hosted on a chain is the sum of those token balances recorded on that chain. It is widely used as a proxy for settlement capacity, because most on-chain trading, lending and payment activity is denominated in stablecoins.

오해를 유발하는 부분
Native issuance and bridged wrappers are easy to count twice: an issuer mints on one chain, a bridge locks that supply and mints a representation on another, and a careless total includes both. Issuers pre-mint inventory that sits in a treasury address awaiting distribution, which inflates reported supply until it is actually issued to a customer. Balances frozen or blacklisted by an issuer remain inside the reported supply even though they cannot move. Fiat-backed, crypto-collateralized and algorithmic designs are summed together despite completely different failure modes, a distinction made concrete by the 2022 collapse of Terra's UST, where a design that had held its peg unwound within days.
주식과의 비교, 그리고 그 한계
Bank deposits in a payment system. The analogy fails because there is no deposit insurance, no central bank facility and no common standard for reserve composition or redemption rights across issuers.
높은 값 또는 낮은 값 해석
A higher figure means more dollar-denominated token value is recorded on that chain and available to move within it. It does not indicate how much of that supply is being used rather than sitting idle.
