Validator Count
The number of validators currently participating in a proof-of-stake network's consensus.
In proof of stake, validators propose and attest to blocks and post bonded stake that can be penalized for misbehavior. The count is read from the protocol's active validator set. It is often cited as a decentralization measure, which requires care because a validator is a registered slot rather than an independent party.
Chỗ dễ gây hiểu lầm
A validator is not an operator and not a person. Ethereum caps the effective stake per validator key, so a single professional operator can run thousands of validators and the count grows with stake rather than with the number of independent participants. Chains with a fixed active set report a constant number that reveals nothing about how much stake sits behind it or how many candidates wait outside the set. The figure is silent on the concentration measures that actually bear on resilience: the stake share of the largest operators, diversity of client software implementations, and how many validators are hosted with the same cloud provider or in one jurisdiction.
Đọc giá trị cao hoặc thấp
A higher count means more validator slots are active in consensus and a lower count means fewer. Determining how many independent parties operate them requires separate data on operators and stake distribution.
