BasedHype

BasedHype is a meme token living on the Base blockchain, launched in July 2025 as a symbolic protest against what its creators describe as unsustainable tokenomics practices in the broader cryptocurrency space. It is aimed at a community of users who share that critique and want to participate in a token with a fixed, fully issued supply and transparent, on-chain burn mechanics. It does not claim to solve a technical problem or provide a service; its purpose is expressive and community-oriented.

BasedHype is a standard ERC-20 token on the Base network, meaning it settles on Base's underlying infrastructure and carries no consensus algorithm of its own. The contract has been renounced, so no party can mint additional tokens, add taxes, or upgrade the contract after the fact. A scheduled burn of 200 million tokens per month is drawn from a vesting pool of 6 billion tokens beginning August 1, 2025, with liquidity representing 2 billion tokens locked via Bitbond until June 30, 2028.

BasedHype collects no fees; the token carries no transaction tax and no protocol revenue mechanism of any kind. Because there is no fee stream, the fee-based measures typically shown on this site do not apply here and are not displayed. The total circulating supply of 10 billion tokens equals the maximum supply, giving a fully diluted value equal to the market capitalization and a dilution overhang of 0.0% at this point in time. The 30-day average turnover ratio of 0.001425 and the 24-hour turnover of 0.000145 describe how much of the market capitalization has changed hands relative to total value, without any portion flowing to a protocol.
