Terra
이것은 무엇인가
LUNA is the native token of the Terra blockchain, a decentralized platform designed to host applications and provide financial tools to developers and users of a decentralized economy. Following the collapse of the original Terra chain and its algorithmic stablecoin in 2022, a community governance vote established a new Terra chain that operates without a stablecoin at its core. The project aims to support a broad ecosystem of decentralized applications by providing the foundational infrastructure and incentive layer for network participation.
Terra uses a Delegated Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism built on the Tendermint protocol, where 130 independent validators process and verify transactions to maintain the integrity of the blockchain. LUNA holders who do not wish to run a validator node can delegate their tokens to an existing validator, earning a share of network rewards while contributing to security. Validators who act dishonestly or go offline are subject to slashing, meaning a portion of their staked LUNA is permanently removed as a penalty.
The primary fee stream within the Terra network consists of gas fees paid by users when interacting with decentralized applications, which flow to validators and delegators rather than being retained by any central entity. The data stored here does not include a discrete protocol fee figure, so fee-based measures used on this site cannot be calculated from a reported revenue stream. Total value locked on the Terra chain stands at 3,252,943.98 USD at the point-in-time recorded, and the market cap to TVL ratio is 9.49, meaning the network's market capitalization is nearly ten times the value of assets actively deployed within its applications.
