Bedrock is a decentralized finance application whose native token, BR, serves as the governance instrument for the Bedrock DAO. The DAO manages decisions across the Bedrock ecosystem, which spans multiple blockchain networks including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base, and Berachain. It is designed for BR token holders who want a formal say in how the protocol's parameters, incentive structures, and liquidity allocation are set.

BR token holders can lock their BR at a one-to-one ratio to receive veBR, a voting escrow token, with longer lock durations granting proportionally greater voting power. veBR holders then vote on governance proposals, including gauge allocations that direct incentive distributions across the protocol's liquidity pools. The token exists across several blockchain ecosystems simultaneously and carries no consensus or block-production role of its own.
