Rain

Rain is a decentralized options and prediction-market protocol built on the Arbitrum network, designed to let anyone create and trade custom markets without needing permission from a central authority. It targets traders and market creators who want to speculate on or hedge against outcomes — whether financial or event-based — without relying on a traditional intermediary. The protocol combines elements of options trading, prediction markets, and gambling-style products in a single permissionless framework.

Rain runs on Arbitrum, an Ethereum layer-2 network, and uses an AI-based oracle called Olympus AI to resolve public markets, while private markets allow the creator to act as the resolver. The RAIN token sits at the center of the protocol's deflationary mechanism: 2.5% of all trading volume is used to purchase and permanently remove RAIN tokens from circulation, gradually reducing supply. Token holders participate in governance through a decentralized autonomous organization, and the protocol incorporates account abstraction to simplify the user experience for less technical participants.

Fees are generated by trading activity on the protocol; in the trailing 30 days the protocol recorded fees of $160,094 and revenue of $97,131.58, with a take rate of roughly 60.7% over that period, meaning the protocol retained about three-fifths of gross fees while the remainder went to the supply side. Over the trailing 12 months, total fees reached $1,509,671 and revenue $988,763.82. In the most recent 24-hour window, fees were $59,867 and revenue was $41,575. The market-cap-to-revenue ratio, calculated using revenue annualized from the trailing 30 days, stands at 10,497.1, and the fully diluted equivalent is 16,909.66.
