Vana

Vana is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain designed to let individuals treat their personal data as a financial asset rather than a resource extracted by platforms without compensation. It targets anyone who generates digital data and wants to contribute that data to artificial-intelligence model training while retaining ownership and earning rewards. The network does this by organizing data into pooled structures called Data Liquidity Pools, governed by participant-controlled organizations.

Vana runs as an EVM-compatible chain, meaning it supports smart contracts written in the same language used on Ethereum and can interoperate with ecosystems including Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, and BNB Chain. Data contributors submit personal datasets to Data Liquidity Pools, where a Proof-of-Contribution mechanism validates quality and integrity before issuing data tokens that represent a contributor's share of the pool. The native VANA token is used to reward contributors, validators, and pool creators within this system.
