Lee la documentación de la APIAave is a decentralized lending and borrowing protocol that allows cryptocurrency holders to deposit assets into shared liquidity pools and earn interest, or to post collateral and take out loans without a traditional financial intermediary. It addresses the problem of accessing credit and yield in a permissionless way, meaning anyone with a compatible crypto wallet can participate without a bank account or credit check. The AAVE token is also a governance token, giving holders a say in how the protocol evolves.
Aave operates as a smart-contract application rather than a standalone blockchain, so it carries no independent consensus algorithm and settles on whichever underlying chains it is deployed on, including networks in the Ethereum, Avalanche, Polygon, Solana, BNB Chain, and Near ecosystems. Borrowers lock up cryptoassets as collateral and draw loans from pools funded by lenders, with interest rates adjusting algorithmically based on how much of each pool is in use. The AAVE token can be staked in a safety module that acts as a backstop in the event of a shortfall, and token holders use it to vote on protocol parameters through on-chain governance.
Fees are generated by the interest borrowers pay on loans; over the trailing 30 days the protocol collected 38,268,893 USD in total fees, and over the trailing 12 months it collected 691,138,781 USD. The largest share of those fees flows back to liquidity providers as supply-side revenue, which was 33,206,688 USD over the trailing 30 days, while Aave itself retained 5,062,205 USD in protocol revenue over the same period, reflecting a take rate of approximately 13.2%. Annualizing the trailing 30-day figures gives projected fees of 465,604,864 USD and projected protocol revenue of 61,590,160 USD, and the ratio of market capitalization to those annualized fees stands at 5.32. Revenue over the trailing 30 days grew 75.33% while fee growth over the same window was 9.22%, indicating that the protocol's retained share expanded relative to total activity.
