How to read this file. Each tab answers one question. Overview is the summary. Price is what it has done. Fundamentals is what it earns. Tokenomics is what happens to supply. Valuation puts the two together — with the limits of doing so stated. Every figure shows the period it was measured over and who published it.

What this is

Algorand is a Layer 1 blockchain network designed to support both everyday digital payments and developer-built applications such as payment systems, digital identity tools, supply-chain tracking, and financial services. It aims to address the tension between speed, security, and decentralization that has challenged earlier blockchains, targeting retail users who want simple transactions as well as enterprises that need more complex capabilities. ALGO is the native token of this network.

Algorand secures its network and produces blocks through a consensus mechanism called Pure Proof-of-Stake, a variant of standard Proof-of-Stake in which token holders are randomly and secretly selected to propose and vote on blocks, with no small group able to predict or control the selection in advance. Blocks are finalized very quickly — the stored data records a block time of effectively zero minutes, indicating near-instant finality relative to most blockchains. ALGO is used to pay transaction fees on the network and is required to participate in the consensus process.

The network's fee stream comes from users paying to submit transactions on-chain. Over the trailing 30 days, the protocol collected 536 USD in total fees, and over the trailing 7 days it collected 125 USD, with the most recent 24-hour figure standing at 14 USD. Fee growth over the last 30 days was 0.0 percent, meaning the fee run-rate was flat across that window. The take rate is recorded at 100 percent for the trailing 30 days, indicating that all fees collected are retained by the protocol rather than distributed to a separate class of liquidity providers or validators, and supply-side revenue for the same period is 0.0 USD, consistent with that structure.
