Turnover, 30-day
Average daily trading volume over the last month as a share of market capitalization.
A steadier version of the daily turnover figure. It shows how much of an asset's market value changes hands on a typical day rather than on one.
Where it misleads
Reported volume includes wash trading on some venues, which inflates the numerator for smaller assets more than for larger ones.
Reading a high or a low value
Very low turnover means the market capitalization rests on few trades.
