Читать документацию APIChainlink is a decentralized oracle network whose token, LINK, launched on 16 September 2017 and sits in the Infrastructure and Decentralized Finance categories. It addresses the 'oracle problem': blockchains cannot read data from the outside world on their own, so smart contracts that need real-world information — asset prices, interest rates, proof that a reserve exists — have no way to get it without a trusted intermediary. Chainlink positions itself as that intermediary, serving developers who build smart contracts across many blockchains including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Solana, Avalanche, and Polygon.
A decentralized network of independent node operators retrieves data from off-chain sources, aggregates the responses to reach consensus, and delivers a single verified answer to the requesting smart contract. LINK is the utility token that smart contract developers use to pay node operators for this service, and node operators stake LINK as collateral to signal reliability and face potential penalties for poor performance. Chainlink has no native blockchain of its own and no block time; it is middleware that sits across many existing chains, with services including Data Feeds for price information, CCIP for cross-chain messaging and token transfers, Automation for triggering contract functions, and Proof of Reserve for collateral verification.
Fees are generated when smart contracts and protocols pay for Chainlink's data and messaging services; in the trailing 30 days the network collected 4,462,261 USD in fees, and over the trailing 12 months it collected 62,663,938 USD. Of the 30-day fees, 4,351,542 USD went to holders and node operators as revenue, while 110,719 USD represented supply-side revenue paid directly to node operators for their work. The protocol retains a very large share of fees relative to supply-side costs, with a take rate of approximately 97.5% measured over the trailing 30 days. Annualizing the trailing 30-day figures produces estimated fees of 54,290,842 USD and revenue of 52,943,761 USD, which, set against a market capitalization of 9,904,545,637 USD, yields a market-cap-to-fees ratio of approximately 181.95 and a market-cap-to-revenue ratio of approximately 186.58.
