RE

RE is the governance token of the Re Protocol, an internet-native marketplace designed to connect capital providers with fully collateralized reinsurance activity carried out by licensed insurance entities. The protocol attempts to address a transparency problem in the traditional reinsurance industry by making collateral, reserves, and selected operating data verifiable on the Ethereum blockchain. It is aimed at capital providers and participants in the reinsurance market who want onchain visibility into how insurance capital is deployed.

Re Protocol operates on Ethereum and uses blockchain infrastructure to record and verify collateral and reserve data associated with reinsurance arrangements conducted through licensed entities. The RE token itself serves a governance function, giving holders influence over protocol upgrades, technical permissions, committee formation, reporting standards, incentive policy, and governance procedures. Underwriting, claims, pricing, and regulated operations remain outside the token's scope and are handled by qualified professionals and licensed entities.
